Hope. What is it, and how does it relate to our lives? To answer this question, we asked some of our WYS members. How does Jesus represent hope to you? Caitlyn: I think that whenever things are bad, messy or it feels like the end of the world, Jesus is there and you can always turn to him. He can help you in those situations, cause he always has the answer. WYS & COVID-19
COVID-19 has made a large impact on the way we conduct ourselves in our daily lives. Through this, we have had to adapt to the changes implemented in our society. This is true for church as well. We had to move online, and have more rules about the way we worshiped. Now with WYS has helped us to learn to grow and adapt, and realize the importance of being rooted in Christ during tough times.

Mentoring in WYS
As a mentor you are helping the youth to hone in on their skills as you help each other walk the path of God. Our desire is to have mentors and youth come together to inspire all generations to worship God. In WYS 3.0 our theme is about “Spiritual Integrity.” Previous themes that we focussed on were “What is Worship” and “Disciples Making Disciples.” Each time we need mentors in many areas such as the AV team, creative arts team and the music team. What is WYS?
WYS stands for Westside Youth Service. We are a group of youth and mentors who serve and strive to be a generation that inspires and leads many to worship God. WYS is passionate about getting youth involved and interested in the church. In this special church service, the youth get to lead the worship service doing things like singing or playing instruments, and organizing portions of the service such as working on the AV team or being a part of the creative arts team. What Is WYS Journey?
WYS Journey is a branch of WYS, and is a devotional project written by youth, for the youth. This branch is called WYS Journey because it helps the youth along their journey through the work of the Holy Spirit. From September to December, we have a new devotional booklet, that contains a devotional for each day. We cover burning questions that teens frequently deal with nowadays, like balancing their school life and spiritual life, overcoming temptations, and how we can serve in the church, to name a few.
