Mentoring in WYS

As a mentor you are helping the youth to hone in on their skills as you help each other walk the path of God. Our desire is to have mentors and youth come together to inspire all generations to worship God.

In WYS 3.0 our theme is about “Spiritual Integrity.” Previous themes that we focussed on were “What is Worship” and “Disciples Making Disciples.” Each time we need mentors in many areas such as the AV team, creative arts team and the music team.

1. What it’s like to mentor in WYS?

Being a mentor in WYS is super chill, because you get to meet and learn with the youth, while also seeing them grow in their abilities. It has been very inspirational for myself as well, as you can see changes and “increases in levels”, in their playing but also their hearts for serving God. All the youth are very respectful and fun to hang out with.

2. Why is it so important in WYS?

The youth in WYS are all here with a yearn to learn and serve, and there needs to be people who can train and teach. Having mentors in WYS brings unity to the church and congregation. WYS mentors become like big brothers and sisters to the next generation of worship leaders and team members, bridging the gap between the age groups.
